Major Nelson has announced that a mandatory dashboard update will arrive on January 19th. This update adds a single feature, which you may find familiar. The update re-enables the option to boot into either the dashboard or whatever is sitting in your disc tray.

Major Nelson also states that Xbox.com will also be updated on January 20th, changing the appearance of the official gamercards slightly. The "look and feel" have been updated and your gamerzone will no longer be listed. Check out Nelson's blog to see it for yourself.
