Nick Burton from Rare has suggested that the company might be doing a Kinect version of the classic fighting game Killer Instinct.

Killer Instinct which was released for Midway as an arcade game, and later appeared on N64, has been asked for by a few of the Rare fanbase for years. We don't expect it to find Kinect functionality high on the wishlist, but was recently brought up in a interview with Senior Software Engineer Burton.

When asked if the company plans to revist the archives for future games, such as it did with Perfect Dark Zero and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, he was evasive.

"We're continually, always looking at what we're going to do next," he told us at Gamescom. "There's a heap of stuff that we're looking at right now, so never say never. It might be an Xbox Live Arcade game, it might be a Kinect Xbox Live Arcade game or it could be a massive opus. You'd have to get inside the mind of our Creative Director, George Andreas to find out."

Asked if Killer Instinct would return, he said "Maybe Killer Instinct Kinect". Would it work? "You'd have to play our boxing game and decide if you think it would".

The boxing game and Kinect Sports which is due to release alongside Kinect in November are some of the companies current projects, don't hold your breath for this one.
