Medal of Honor multiplayer uses completely different tech

We already knew that Medal of Honor had two different studios working on it. Today, we learned it's using two different engines as well.
Which is a weird choice, to our untechnical eyes, because that means you'll be getting two separate game executables on your disc and EA is paying Epic's licence fee to use tech for only half the finished product.
The news came, as so much does nowadays, through Twitter. The news was Tweeted by Johan Andersson, who does graphics development at Battlefield creators EA DICE, the multiplayer - which DICE is developing - uses the studio's own Frostbite engine.
"Guess it is out today," he said, "EALA uses a heavily-modified Unreal Engine 3 for Medal of Honor SP and we, DICE, use Frostbite for the MP portion."
Previously we'd assumed that the multiplayer would use Unreal tech as well. Guess that EA just wants to get the game out faster than one studio can manage - a tactic employed to good effect by next months' Bioshock 2, which farmed out multiplayer development to Digital Extremes.
On the plus side, it means you know that MoH's multiplayer is going to be really, really good. On the minus side, there's the suspicion it's going to be a bit like Battlefield: Bad Company 2. We'll have to wait until we see it later in the year.
