Left 4 Dead 2 sells 2 million, DLC news "very soon"

Valve has announced that Left 4 Dead 2 has racked up two million sales in its first two weeks on sale, and has been played by over a million Xbox Live users.

Apparently this is better than Valve was expecting, and more than double what the original Left 4 Dead managed, according to Valve's Doug Lombardi, and "news regarding L4D2 DLC 1 is coming very soon." Good!

Sharp-eyed internet people have already suggested that the DLC might introduce new playable characters in the form of hick metal band the Midnight Riders, whose hard-rockin' stage show forms the finale of the Dark Carnival campaign.

The band has already got a full-on tour website which contains ill-advised bravado saying they aren't going to let any damn 'flu stop them touring. There are also images of the four of them that make clear they'd work rather well as playable characters. We'd also hope they'd have dialogue to rival new mag favourite Ellis, too...
